Jeffrey Uhlmann began recording cassette albums in the late 1970s. His early work emphasized electronic music that often incorporated something he refers to as “vinyl loops” which were created by scratching vinyl records to create repeating rhythm tracks (loops). He performed live through the early 1980s and recorded and released albums sporadically until the mid 1990s. He is now a professor at the University of Missouri.
