Artists: Lu Katavist

In one of his former lives, Cologne-based Lu Katavist was (among other things) expanding the borders of experimental drum'n'bass under the elfish echo moniker (releases on source records and km20), but now he's focussing on improvised live-electronics, controlling a modular system with the Haken Continuum Fingerboard.

Happily joining a new and growing worldwide scene of modular experimentalists, he also loves playing live, especially when there's an opportunity to jam with other musicians (in which case he'll refrain from using loopers and plastering everything with thick drones…) "The only constant thing is change" – music is the magic of the moment.

Lu Katavist has a vinyl album out now on smalldeath.org records, it's called "retoxis" and it's available online through webshops like staalplaat.com and a-musik.com and through discogs.
